Sign

I've been wanting to make some laundry detergent from a recipe I found on Pinterest. Turned out great, but Hayden couldn't resist sharing his thoughts.

Loud

Guns N' Roses in town...
With my 3 favorite guys...
Yes please.

What was more entertaining than watching an old washed up "has been" try to belt out the same songs and notes as he did 20 years ago, was watching my boys love every minute of it.  Unfortunately, he took the stage at 11pm, so Hayden and I didn't last the entire concert.  Even Wade ended up asleep in Brenden's truck before the final song.  Brenden, however, stayed until the last piece of tinsel fell from the ceiling.
My real entertainment came when I got to introduce Brenden to Sonia Leigh and take him to see Hayden's favorite band, Zac Brown.
Great show.
Great musicians.
Great entertainers.
I think we have increased Brenden's musical selection... at least improved on it greatly :)

Red

Without fail, if I run or walk for my workout, I am limping for two days afterwards because of my foot injury: plantar fasciatis.  This is a problem for someone who LIKES to run, or planning on running a race anytime soon. I've been doing a lot of cross training this winter: lifting weights, elliptical, spin class (barf), swimming, and the stair climber of death... but without fail, when it hits RUN day, I know what the next day will bring.  Pain.

My solution:  KT tape.  Last night I could barely walk (after a mere 2 mile walk) and I knew I was going to be hurting for my 10 miler today, so I put this stuff on last night, slept with my Plantar Fasciatis boot, and this morning my foot feels ready to go.  NO pain, no limping.

Something I wore

I've been lifting weights waiting to wear a short sleeved shirt without my baggy arms having to show. Making some progress

Driving home from swimming lessons

Tubing Soldier Hollow

Another Christmas Eve spent on the only patch of snow in the entire valley...
My parents were gone this year, and a couple siblings were missing, but the fun was still there.
Aspen is a thrill seeker.

Back...

Ok, ok... I've been slacking.
Mostly because I feel like I am so far behind, so I do nothing... and get further behind.
Today while browsing for Pinterest ideas, I found this March photo-a-day image, and decided that it would be my motivation to get my blogging butt back in gear.

Here goes...

Spiderman has a sister

Spiderman has a sister...
Her name is Aspen.

UEA: Capitol Reef (day 1)

Stayed in Thousand Lakes RV Park, in their cabins.  It was quite cold for October... but warmed up nicely during the day.  Wade and Aspen went down a day early with Grandma and Grandpa... and Brenden came down with Hayden and me.
First day included a stop at the overlook, a walk down the wash for a couple miles and dinner at Cafe Diablo, which was to die for.

Aspen loved using Grandma's hiking sticks... for walking and for stabbing her brothers.
Brenden and Wade enjoyed ascending anything climbable.

Hayden told Aspen that if she climbed rocks she could run into where snakes live, so for the rest of the trip Aspen would warn the boys as they were climbing and hiking:
"Hey Guys... SNAKES HIDE"

Brenden used his boy scout skills and dissected a cactus so we could sample it.
Wade climbed past the safety fence to sit on a ledge, which just about made his parents (and grandparents) have a nervous breakdown.

Great weather, great company, great day.

The funny farm

I went to help my sister pack her house to move this fall.  We had lunch at Marion's and on our way out of town, Aspen and I stopped to see my cousin, Tracy.  She had what could be considered a petting zoo at her house.  Piglets, a baby calf, bunnies, and more.  Aspen was in 7th heaven.  I was just happy to get back home.
